Fall Meeting
Welcome to a new school year. It is a bittersweet time for us as educators. We are faced with mergers and school closings as well as exciting technological innovations. These times challenge us to communicate and collaborate with one another in order to prepare students to become life-long learners.
Technology has changed the way we access, share and communicate information. This change has definitely influenced the way our students learn. Library/media specialists play a vital role in the education of the next generation by teaching them research skills and providing them with the best print and digital materials available. Tight budgets make this difficult, to say the least.
It is in light of these challenges that The Northern Ohio Chapter of the Catholic Library is offering a workshop on September 23rd at Notre Dame College in South Euclid, Ohio . Joseph Salamon, a librarian from the Cuyahoga County Public Library (CCPL), will speak on the use of e-books and audio-books in elementary and secondary school libraries and classrooms. He will also explain ways to stretch your budget by borrowing these resources from CCPL. There will also be an opportunity to share ideas with other librarians. We will begin with registration from 3:00 – 3:30 and end with a catered dinner at 6:15.
